About
Why ^tiny^ is the whole point.
Tiny Setup Lab is an editorial site about software for one-person operations and tiny side projects. The picks come from a small budget, not an enterprise one.
What we cover
Software stacks for one-person operations. Hosting. Domains. VPN and password managers that actually matter on a laptop. Money tools for getting paid in one currency and spending in another. Travel kit for the operator who works from a different city every other month.
Who runs it
A one-person project. The site started after one too many best-SaaS-for-2026 posts that recommended an enterprise plan to someone with three subscribers. Most software content feels written for a different size of operation. This one is written from a tiny one.
How we choose what to feature
- Fits a tiny operation first. If a tool only makes sense at 50 employees, it does not get a recommendation, no matter how good the demo looks.
- We name drawbacks alongside strengths. Most SaaS is fine. Some is overhyped. A few tools are genuinely worth their fee. We try to say which is which.
- We notice renewal price, not just intro price. Hostinger and many registrars front-load discounts. We mention the real number.
- Hands-on use is flagged when it happens. Where a pick is based on spec research and the experience of one author, we say that on the page.
- Commission rate does not change ranking. The Affiliate Disclosure covers how funding works.
What you will not find here
- Enterprise-tier recommendations for solo readers.
- Top-10 lists that copy the rest of the internet.
- Sponsored gushing about products no one is still using in six months.
- Best-of-2026 pages with no opinion in them.
